Educational Trust | Case Study

At Marshall Wooldridge, service is at the heart of what we do. We are not just a business that sells insurance policies and leaves our customers to it. We recently had an example of just this.

Our client, an Educational Charitable Trust, received several claims made by the travel insurers of several school parties who, unfortunately, had to cancel their planned trips to their centre because of the Covid pandemic. The insurers concerned were looking to recover payments made under the policies from our client. And this was even though the terms and conditions of the contracts implicitly stated that all deposits paid were non-refundable.

Whilst our client had no specific insurance in place to mitigate against this, our claims team leapt into action, drafting a series of letters to the insurer concerned stating why our client was not subject to the provisions of the Package Travel regulations and declining any liability to reimburse the refunds.
